Poll: How Many Times Do You Say “Bloody Mary?”

Hi Ghostlies. I’m doing a little research into a beloved urban legend, Bloody Mary. I’ve found a lot of variation in this legend, so I’m asking you: How many times do say “Bloody Mary” into a mirror to summon her?

I’ll tell you about my variation after the poll.

The Traditional Bloody Mary vs. My Local Version

We all pretty much know how to call Bloody Mary. First, you light a candle, head into a dark bathroom, and say Bloody Mary 3 times. Then, she’ll appear in the mirror to scare you.

But it’s different where I grew up, which is in northern Wisconsin. For me and my friends, it varied in a few ways:

1. You still light a candle (none of this LED crap)
2. You go into a dark room (it didn’t have to be a bathroom) with a big mirror
3. You say Bloody Mary 5 times (just to prove you really want to see her)
4. You blow out the candle
5. You wait for her to appear … usually right behind you
6. She kills you … if she manifests

Usually, one of my friends would jump out to scare the bejeezus out of me, or someone would bang on the door to startle me. There was always a jump scare during the ritual.
