Scaling Back On Social Media Posting …
Hi gang. I hope all is well. I’ve got a little news when it comes to social media.
I’m not going spend as much time with it going forward. I want to spend more time working on the website, podcast and videos, and not chasing algorithms.
In recent months, Pinterest has really shifted into a shopping site, and the spooky stuff got squashed if you couldn’t monetize it. For the longest time, Pinterest was second to Google for sending people over to the site. Now, it’s just dropped off completely.
As for the other platforms, Instagram has never been a focus, and Facebook hasn’t been relevant for a while now. I guess if I had a private group it would be. But I don’t want to restrict people from reading spooky tales, ghost hunting reports, and gear reviews.
I will keep posting documentaries and other videos to YouTube, and I’ll continue making podcasts. There’s an email subscription thing I’ll activate, too.
But I think the easiest thing is to use this site for a community. There’s a comments section and contact form. I did think about using Discord or Substack, but the costs start to run high. Websites are just easy for folks to find and use.
So, that’s what I’ve got for now. I’ll have another post to read on Monday, September 8th and another podcast episode on the 8th as well.
Thanks for reading Ghostly Activities. Much appreciated and take care!
Jake
