Boo Moments | Single, Shocking Ghostly Encounters

Many people have claimed to have a paranormal experience with a ghost. It may be the only one they ever have. A few people will follow a paranormal path after that. Most will continue to ignore paranormal events in their lives. Why is that?

Boo Moment Definition & Characteristics

First off, a ‘boo moment’ is a surprising encounter with a ghost. It’s easy to confuse them with crisis apparitions. Boo moments happen when someone sees a full or partial apparition. It’s so vivid and real that most people think it’s a stranger.

But then the apparition twists into something shocking.

It could mean a twisted smile; claws manifest; it burns; or something just a creepy happens. And then it vanishes. You’re left petrified and alone.

Now, boo moments rarely happen with a group of people. I’m not sure why the spirit would single out someone. I think boo moments are really phantoms warning you of danger, like an omen. By scaring you and changing your plans, it stops the timeline of events that could lead to harm. In a few cases, it was to make sure you received a message, like a crisis apparition.

Why We Choose To Ignore Paranormal Events

It probably deals with our brains trying to be rational. Really, the world should be filled with ghosts and spirits. They could be all around us, but we need to feel safe to function.

If we were at DEFCON 1 all the time, we would be far more aggressive with each other, trying to carve out a safe harbor from chaos. It’s hard to be civil when you fear your surroundings. It’s like a stray dog on the streets: Once you take that pooch into a home, it calms down because it feels safe. On the street, it growls and snaps at strangers to protect itself. That’s our lizard brain we have from evolution. You’d fight or flee from danger.

So, our minds start to make ‘sense’ of the strangeness around us. You just imagined it. The candle holder fell on its own because the cat ran by. Our dogs bark at nothing because it wants attention. It was a strange reflection in a mirror because you matrixed the curtains behind you.

You get the point: We may encounter ghosts all the time, but we only pay attention when it’s an extreme manifestation. And most ghostly encounters are barely perceptible.

When Do We Reach The Point To Believe

Repetition and intensity. If you have enough paranormal encounters that are so intense, the ghost world is trying to tell you something. Each boo moment ratchets up the fear factor until you can’t ignore it anymore. That will vary for each person. I find psi-sensitive people start to believe after a few encounters. Hardcore skeptics will likely never accept them, no matter how often boo moments happen. For the average joe, 5 encounters over a year should do the trick.

Why do people start to have more encounters? For some people, it’s their psychic abilities finally manifesting. For others, you may have sharp senses that have woken you up to the unknown.

In my case, I didn’t think about the paranormal until I had an encounter in the elevator of my apartment building. I had always liked ghost stories and creepy stuff, so I may have naturally been more open to boo moments. Something shimmering in a gold light manifested and stopped the elevator between floors, then blasted me with static. It only lasted a minute, but it woke me up. Now, my senses have attuned to ghostly activity.

About This Article On Boo Moments

As I reviewed some of the ghost stories to make podcasts, I noticed one interesting thing about them: Most were single encounters. Mind you, they were really vivid encounters. I talked to some of the people in them and they never had another encounter.

At least, one that they noticed.
